There is always an excuse for not working out as often as we should. We don’t have time. We are tired. We can’t afford to go to the gym or buy gear for home workouts. Well, all of these excuses can be easily wiped out if you set up a home gym, and, you can do it no matter how tight your budget is.
Think about Rocky IV! Remember when Rocky Balboa went to Russia to fight Drago, and had a house set up for his workouts, without one piece of modern training equipment? You can do this, too.
Okay, you don’t have to quite go to the lengths that Rocky did, but, you get the picture. There are all kinds of things around the home that can be used as workout gear, and it doesn’t cost a thing, because there is nothing to buy.
And you will get the exact same benefits as you would by using expensive, high-tech gear that is really unnecessary.
Here are some of the things that you can use for home workouts that you probably already have sitting around the house:
Exercise Bike
– Today’s exercise bikes are usually electric with digital readouts, but is this really necessary? Most homes seem to have an old exercise bike stashed in the attic or basement, which is all you really need. Dig it out (if you don’t have one, you are sure to know someone who does and will probably sell it for less than $20, or even give it to you), dust it off, and start getting in shape.
Stair Climber
– If you have a set of stairs in your home, who needs an expensive stair climber? Just run (or walk, whichever your current pace is) up and down your stairs as long as you would on the stair climber for the exact same workout, and it won’t cost you a penny. If you get bored, use stairs at someone else’s home, or anywhere you can find them.
Weights
– Instead of using dumbbells, why not use paint cans? Depending on how full they are, you can have many different weights. Or, you can fill empty paint cans with rocks to get the weight you want. Use the handles for lifting your new “weights,” which again won’t cost a cent. If you don’t have paint cans, get some from people you know who are finished with their painting projects.
These are just a few of the items you can use to workout at home without having to spend a lot of money. Use your imagination, and you are sure to come with loads more money-saving exercise tips that will have you slim and trim, with extra cash in your wallet for a brand new wardrobe for your new body.
